Advertising
Advertising is a type of visual, auditory or experiential communication that persuades the target audience to take a specific action, whether it is buying a product, visiting a website, or signing up for a marathon. Advertising is specifically geared to sell things, ideas, services or make a call to action. It can be in print, on the radio, on television or on the internet, and can be any size, or format you can imagine. Advertising can also be experiential, where you can experience the product or service before buying into it.
01Print
Printed advertising can mean full page magazine ads, or tiny classified. It can also be a huge billboard, or the side of a truck. Since such a huge variety of materials can be printed on, the vehicle of your advertising is limited only by your imagination.
02Television
Television ads are very common, and run between shows. More and more, companies are sponsoring TV shows, meaning their ads run before and after every ad break. TV ads can be extremely effective, while also being expensive.
03Web
Advertising on the web can mean many things. It can mean banner ads on the sides and top of a website, or paying someone to review your material (like an advertorial in a magazine).
04Radio
Radio advertising is unique, in that it is only what you hear that counts. While print, web and TV ads can be multimedia, radio ads need to be text and sound effect based, while being short and to the point.
